The plaster lathe was entirely removed to check for mold and to allow the electrical circuits and plumbing to be redone. The nextThe next photo shows the floor of the front bedroom with the rotten garage-door header removed. It was replaced along with the floor. The exixting cast iron plumbing was discarded and replaced with shiny new copper which was sleeker and more elegant. Plastic was not an option in the garage according to code. The existing bathtub was re-installed and refinished using a polycarbonate coating and looked like new when it was done. The rockboard was next and then the cherry floor in the living and dining rooms. Finally the stucco was repaired - this is the scratch coat around the recycled window.
